IATSE #891 One of the top Production Sound Mixers in Canada, Chris Duesterdiek has been recognized with 16 major awards and nominations. He was honored with both a BAFTA and Cinema Audio Society Award as well as an Academy Award nomination for his work on the highly acclaimed feature The Revenant. In addition to Alejandro G. Inarritu, he has worked with an array of celebrated directors including Robert Zemeckis, Tim Burton, Chris Columbus, Robert Redford, Jason Reitman and Joon-Ho Bong. Chris has had sound running through his veins from an early age and at seventeen started his professional journey by working in radio. In his mid-twenties he moved to Vancouver and transitioned to film. In a career spanning over thirty five years, Chris has never shied away from complicated projects, whether the challenges were environmental or technical. His creative talents, proven team leadership and unique positive communication style have garnered the respect and appreciation of co-workers both above and below the line. In 2016 Chris was invited to be a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Since then he has continued to add to the impressive roster of filmmakers and talent he has worked with. A member of the Cinema Audio Society, and Locals 52 and 695, Charles has been nominated for an Emmy Award and worked alongside top Directors including Spike Lee, Judd Apatow, and Mike Nichols. Charles is equally comfortable and adept at recording massive special effects scenes like in The Punisher, intimate dialogue in Scenes From A Marriage, and live music performances from John Legend, Common, and Outkast. Growing up in the bay area, it wasn't unusual for Michael Koff to poke around film sets from a young age trying to get a glimpse of a set. It wasn't until studying abroad in his junior year of college that he got his first taste, with MTV Europe, running cable for their sound guy on a live weekly show. When returning stateside, Koff hit the ground running and moved to Los Angeles to chase the dream. Almost twenty years later, Koffy (as he is most commonly known) has amassed an impressive resume and continues to seek out challenging projects that push the creative boundaries of sound. Koffy has been fortunate to travel to over fifty countries as Sound Mixer and thrives on difficult location recording. Koff has garnered the reputation for being meticulous and creative with his work, and he somehow always keeps it fun along the way. Koffy and his crew are Atlanta based and always happy to travel.

After receiving four Genie Nominations from the Academy of Canadian Cinema for Why Shoot The Teacher, The Third Walker, Meatballs and Draw, Richard relocated to Los Angeles in 1983. Richard enjoys going back and forth between Features and Television and keeping up with the latest advances in sound technology. Richard served as President of the Cinema Audio Society (2003 -2006) after nineteen years on the board of directors. IATSE Local #695 & 479 James Mase has worked in Sound his entire adult life in Production, Post Production, and Music. No surprise he has a deep understanding of the process and of the technical and engineering side. Starting out in Music in Boston, James helped engineer the first New Edition album. He then moved to New York and worked in Music Engineering for artists like Run-DMC, Chaka Kahn, and others. Another move back to Boston introduced James to Video Production and Post work including Commercial work and his first experience with Sound for Picture. Three years were spent on projects taking him to Europe, Russia, and South America. After settling in Los Angeles, where most of the resume work was done, James and family recently relocated to Wilmington NC, where James works as local as well as Los Angeles.

IATSE Local #695 & 479 Jay Meagher began his Sound Mixing career early when he owned a touring concert sound company in Virginia and a movie project in the area called his office asking if they knew anyone that does production sound. Having answered the phone, Jay said yes, of course. He hadn't done location sound but as a quick learner, he immediately learned everthing he could, got an interview and landed the job! The show went smoothly and thirty years later Jay still loves production sound and works with many Academy Award winning Actors, acclaimed Directors and Producers. Jay loves the collaborative process of filmmaking and the challenge of getting great sound in difficult conditions. He is a self admitted perfectionist and enjoys hearing his work on the finished project and being satisfied with the end result. IATSE Local #479 Brett Murray's twenty plus years of experience quickly overcomes sound challenges and delivers outstanding tracks. Respected for his Production Sound capabilities by Producers and Directors alike, he works closely with Directors to understand and convey their creative style and vision and capture actor performances. Brett started his interest in Sound as a musician. In ninth grade at his Alabama school he headed the sound department as the youngest student ever to hold that role. He began mixing for student films, live music and theatrical productions. During his junior year in high school Brett left to work on his first feature film "Under Siege" where he met veteran Sound Mixer Scott Smith and cemented his enthusiasm for feature film Production Sound. Soon after graduating, Brett learned Sound Utility under Mixer Whit Norris in Atlanta. Moving to Los Angeles in 1996, Brett furthered his education and pursued musical interests. In 2003, he returned to the south and resides in Atlanta, GA. Brett works with acclaimed Directors including Lisa Joy, Kevin Smith, Mike Flanagan, James Mangold and Jordan Peele to name a few. Brett's work on "The True Don Quixote" earned Best Sound Award recognition from the New Orleans Film Festival in 2018.

Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Whit started working in broadcasting at WJSR and WVOK while attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Soon after, Airmobile Productions recruited Whit to work on Commercials and Industrials. After two years, Whit moved to New York to manage a large film restoration project for Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus before Sound Mixing consumed him. Now residing in Atlanta since 1987, Whit has experienced the Sound industry shift from recording on analog tape to now recording on digital recorders. While attending the University of Sagrado Corazon in San Juan, he interned as a production assistant on a feature film and found himself gravitating toward the Sound Department. When handed the boom, Anthony took it with grace, eventually working on incoming productions from the mainland including Jacobs Ladder, O & A, and Captain Ron. Relocating to New York, Anthony worked as Utility or Boom for such acclaimed Directors as Woody Allen, Brian DePalma, Sidney Lumet, and Penny Marshall. Later relocating again to Los Angles, he continued to work on large Features including Seabiscuit, The Maze Runner, The Village, American Made and also international work on Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Eat Pray Love, and the Mummy. These films took him to Europe, Southeast Asia, Mexico, South America, and Africa. Anthony is a member of Cinema Audio Society, the Television Academy, and three IA Unions including West Coast, East Coast, and New Mexico. While not on set, Anthony enjoys cooking and playing golf. Adam Sanchez has been mixing Sound in some capacity since 1997 when he got his hands on reel to reel recording equipment in college. Following stints as a projectionist, a bouncer, a live Sound Mixer and Studio Engineer, it wasn't until he stepped foot on a film set for the first time that he found his niche. Proud to have worked his way up through the business from the bottom up, he's had wonderful opportunities to work alongside hands on directors such as Woody Allen, Alejandro Innaritu, J.C. Chandor, David Frankel and Tom McCarthy. Over the last twenty years, Adam has proven himself both highly capable skilled technician and sensitive to the creative processes at hand. Adam is most at home when he has the opportunity to actively work alongside Cinematographers, Actors and Directors with an open and collective mindset. Adam is a self-reliant, experienced and skilled artison that can identify problems and provide solutions.. In his free time, Adam enjoys learning - whether it's emerging new technologies, learning new culinary skills or studying foreign languages - most recently Mandarin. Serena Simpson is one of very few women Production Sound Mixers, still to this day. She takes great pride in her job and work ethic and has worked her way up through the business at an impressive clip. She got her start in the Entertainment Industry working in Commercial dialogue editing and Sound design. She then played a vital role in the start up of a successful Atlanta audiobook company. Her work in those Audio and Advertising related fields earned her two Telly Awards and an Audie before she transitioned to location Sound Mixing. Serena does Commercials occassionally as Sound Mixer but now primarily works in Television and Features. She enjoys the different paces of the two formats and schedules and her versatility and experience allows her to adapt quickly to any logistical obstacles. Serena's enthusiasm, calm and easy going personality and enjoyment of her work are always appreciated by Directors and Producers. When not on set, you can find Serena tending to her mini farm and family in Atlanta, Georgia.

CAS, IATSE Local #695 and #481 Tom Williams started his career by attending the Berklee College of Music as a Production Engineering Major and working in studios around Boston with elements as diverse as rock bands to orchestras. From studio work, Tom moved into documentaries, which took him around the world shooting for the BBC, NOVA, American Experience and Discovery. The doc world led to narrative work and then into the feature world, where he has worked on many high profile projects. The years spent on documentaries left Tom with the ability to think creatively on the fly, which is always helpful on set. That ability, as well as state of the art equipment, a collaborative attitude and positive personality make Tom easy to work with. He loves what he does and strives to be �invisible� while working, always looking ahead and thinking around potential problems before they can arise. Based just outside of Boston, Tom is available to work anywhere and carries both a US and EU passport.
